How To Light A Bunsen Burner
You need:
Bunsen Burner
Gas Valve
Heat Proof Mat
Matches
A buddy
Safety Goggles

How To Light
Firstly put on your safety goggles
Secondly place your bunsen burner on your heat proof mat
Thirdly attach the rubber tubing to the gas valve
Next light a match and hold it so the flame above the bunsen burner
Lastly get your buddy to turn on the gas valve

If You Want
Open the air hole to make a small blue flame.

About The Flames
The hottest is the blue flame
The yellow flame is called the safety flame

Tests
Safety flame starting temp 22 heated for 5 mins with safety flame temp 58
Roaring flame/ blue flame starting temp 23 heated for 5 mins by blue flame temp 69

Why is the hottest flame the blue flame
Blue flames have more oxygen and get hotter because gases burn hotter than organic materials, such as wood. When natural gas is ignited in a stove burner, the gases quickly burn at a very high temperature.

To make it a fair test we need to start at the same degrees, have the same amount of gas and exact same time
It was not really a fair test because one started at higher degrees and had more time by a couple of seconds
The experiment could be improved by 2 people doing the experiment at once
